Lauren Ogden is a USDF Gold Medalist offering dressage lessons and training in San Luis Obispo County. Based at Asuncion Valley Farm in Templeton, CA, Lauren combines a deep passion for horses with years of experience teaching and helping riders achieve their goals. Whether you're looking to advance in competitive dressage or new to the sport, Lauren's tailored approach ensures progress at every level while prioritizing harmony between horse and rider.

Lauren's horse career started at a young age. She was 12 when she first started riding dressage and 14 when she started teaching. She became assistant trainer to Olympian Guenter Seidel in her early 20's and had the privelidge of riding under Guenter's tutelage for many years. She has studied with many top trainers including Christine Traurig, Herwig Radnetter, Dietrich Von Hopfgarten and Heidi Gaian. ​​

Lauren has many achievements in the show ring from training level to Grand Prix and has earned her Bronze, Silver and Gold Medals. She is passionate about bringing horses and riders up the levels and believes in using a gentle and compassionate approach. Lightness, harmony, and a classical position are the foundation for her training method and the reason for her success in bringing riders and horses through the levels. Horses trained by Lauren have a high degree of ride-ability and a relaxed and positive mind frame. Lauren's students appreciate her demanding yet patient approach and have enjoyed much success in the show ring as well as developing rewarding relationships with their horses.

Asunción Valley Farm is located on 110 acres on the banks of the Salinas River in Templeton, CA. The pastures are fed by the deep aquifers of the Salinas River, and there are both irrigated and native grass pastures available year round for your equine partners. The facility features

Irrigated grass turnouts for horses in the barn – they are turned out daily, if the horses can tolerate the grass. If not, they go in the sand paddocks
